DBS Bank Ltd is a bank incorporated in Singapore. It was formerly known as The Development Bank of Singapore Limited, it was created by the Government of Singapore in 1968 in order to take over the industrial financing activities from the Economic Development Board. The bank currently has more than 100 branches throughout the island and over 200 branches across Asia. DBS Bank is currently the largest bank in South East Asia by assets and also one of the largest banks in all of Asia. It has a strong position in areas such as consumer banking, treasury and markets, asset management, securities brokerage, debt fund raising, and equity mainly in Singapore and Hong Kong.
